Project Description:
Scope of work included the construction of a 9,000 square foot administration, storage, retail and raft rental facility. A public observation tower was included. Also included was a 5,000 square foot work shop with roll up doors. Site work included 2+acres of landscaping, parking, walk ways, bike paths and zero scape areas. The existing facility was demolished and framing was reused for a County horse shelter.
The project received an innovation point on LEED for exemplary performance construction waste management for recycling over 99% of construction waste. The shell of the Administration Building was constructed of concrete that was recycled from the existing site with a wood frame structure, stucco siding and organic roof system. LEED features included the recycled concrete aggregate, organic roof system, natural day lighting, high-efficiency evaporative cooling, low and no VOC materials, passive solar, recycled content press board cabinetry, high R value insulation, regional materials and re-cycled flooring products.
